Job Search Support Group from the Inside

Back in May Terry Seamon and I wrote an article on Job Search Support Groups to provide guidance to folks starting a group.
Read Rules of Engagement: Maintaining an On-Line Networking Group for ideas to facilitate an online group. This experience is unique because the group was formed by a full time employee, not in the HR Department, whose co-workers were recently laid off or about to be laid off, all from the same organization. Understanding the urgency of the circumstances she forged ahead and formed this group without using any company resources. This is a real success story! The group continues to meet as more folks are laid off. To date, more than 50% of the group have landed in new positions.

If you are working in an organization experiencing lay-offs, this article may guide you to a proactive response.

Interdependence Day

Some folks celebrated Independence Day this past weekend. I celebrated Interdependence Day this past weekend by thanking and appreciating folks who have supported the development of my blog, Your Search Lights.
This blog is an adventure for me. Those who know me are both impressed and curious that I'm venturing into the blogging arena because my technical skills are rather basic.
When I needed design work to create my blog and technical assistance to manage the Word Table and periodically editing details in Job Search Resources. Chris, Keith, Sylvia, Matt and Premi generously stepped forward without hesitation.
